The previous chapters discussed the teaching methods in Islam and how these methods can
impact on students knowledge . This chapter will explain the methods that I will use to collect
information on the Islamic methods as used in the classrooms. The aim of the study is to evaluate
the Implementation of the Islamic methods in modern education system of Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia. This chapter will introduce the readers to the research methods and procedures chosen
for this study. It will summarize how data will be collected, which research instrument will be
chosen and the sampling method used for the participants. It will also discuss the data analysis
techniques and the collection of primary and secondary data. The research methodology is built
upon the nature of the research area (Creswell 2008).
Methods
Research Design
Research design of a study provides a framework for data collection and analysis; hence it is
important to choose the most suitable research design as per the analysis of Bryman and Bell
(2007). The research design can be categorized into two types: Quantitative and Qualitative.
Quantitative vs. Qualitative researchClick here for more on this paper.......
Quantitative research design is considered to be the most common research designs used by the
researchers (Cormack, 1991). The application involves either collecting or converting the data in
the form of quantities mathematical figures, this data is then used and various analytical tools

such as regression, ratio analysis, scenario analysis, erythematic calculations etc. are applied on
it. This technique is most helpful when the researcher wish es to identify and examine the cause
and effect relationships of the variables under study (Grove, 1987).
The quantitative research method use numerical data to analyze and reach findings. It is based on
objectivity and follows a formal systematic process. Quantitative research normally studies the
cause and effect relationship existent between two variables (Burns & Grove 1987). On the other
hand, the qualitative research methods are more subjective and based on reasoning. They tend to
describe certain elements attached with a specific phenomenon. They do so with an idealistic or
humanistic approach (Leach, 1990).
Quantitative research focuses more on the measurements and analysis of variables and studies
the causal relationships between them. It overlooks the processes that go into these relationships
(Leach, 1990). Click here for more on this paper.......
This study will be based on quantitative research as the purpose of this study. For this, a research
with the teachers will be conducted. Quantitative research is closely linked with positivist
research paradigm which supports an objective view point. This study will be based on objective
questions and the goal is to test whether the Islamic methods are used in classrooms and what
further recommendations could be made.

The units of analysis for this study are the present teachers who are taking Islamic classes in
Saudi Public Schools. The reason for choosing the teachers who are teaching Islamic classes is
because these teachers have a thorough knowledge about the Islamic methods used in early times
and thus it is more likely they will adopt those techniques to teach their studen ts too. Purposive
sampling will be used for selectin g the participants of the study (Merriam 2009) whereby the
teachers holding Bachelors and Masters Degree and teaching in High public schools will be
chosen. Only those teachers will be included in the research who, are teaching Islamic classes at
the school.
Instrumentation
The instrument used to undertake the research is survey questionnaires (Pinsonneault and
Kraemer 1993). This is because surveys enable the researcher to collect a large amount of
information through quantitative techniques. Surveys are an important data collection tool. They
have been defined as “means for gathering information about the characteristics, actions, or
opinions of a large group of people” (Pinsonneault & Kraemer 1993, p. 77).
According to Salant and Dillman (1994, p. 2), surveys can be used as a means to make
assessment about needs, evaluate demands and also for examining an impact. This research tool
is helpful in gaining information out of a large sample of population and is most efficient in
describing the composition of this sample through the collected demographic data.
Questionnaires are administered by the researcher to a sample of population in order to learn
about the distribution of characteristics, attitudes, or beliefs (Marshall, 2006).

the degree
Because the master people have more knowledge

Give more details
Survey questionnaires are appropriate for collecting large amount of data with lower cost
(per respondent) and lower bias. They also have the advantage of gleaning out more honest
answers from the respondents, compared to other tools that involve direct contact (Dawson &
Catherine 2002). This study will employ survey questionnaires in order to gather data about the
kinds if Islamic methods used by the teachers in Saudi Schools.
Procedures
Data collection
The procedure for data collection will be through online survey questionnaires among the
teachers who are currently teaching at Saudi Public High schools in Riyadh. This will be done by
using a Google Dec tool. The link of the questionnaire would be shared with the teachers of
public schools through emails or by Smartphone’s apps such as What’s up app. The advantage of
this will be easy data collection and minimization of the use of resources.
Data AnalysisClick here for more on this paper.......
For data analysis, the information collected from the questionnaires will be presented in graphs
and charts. A trend would be deduced and the data will also be analyzed qualitatively i.e. in light
of the already collected literature.
Summary
This chapter has explained the chosen research methodology for this study. The methodology
will mainly be quantitative in nature whereby the survey questionnaires will be administered
among the teachers who are taking Islamic classes at Public schools of Saudi Arabia. Primary

data would be collected and analyzed with the help of secondary data in form of literature

whilst maximizing the outcome.
YOU SHOULD USE THIS INFORMATION
Data collection
Add them in the Data collection section
- I do have a good relationship with
teachers in Riyadh who willing to help me.
- Ways of spreading the survey:1- using
emails 2 using the what’s up app on
smartphones.
- Teachers there are friendly and they will
help me.
- I will send the invitation by both ways and
let teaches know about my study. Also, I
will tell them” this study is secret and no
one can assess it.(Survey honesty or Data
collection honesty)
- After I sent the survey I will send a
reminder message to remind teachers to
participate in this study.
- After a while I will send second reminder.
- When the study finished, I will send a
appreciation message
