In spite of cannibalizing its own products by introducing new products almost every couple of years, apple is one company who has given a very positive definition to product cannibalization. The company has cannibalized its own products to ensure others do not take advantage of doing it if Apple takes longer than required to enjoy the success of the current products and does not introduce the better products. Apple stated insignificant sliding in demand for some of its merchandises because of the launch of iPhone which has impacted the company in many ways. It sold 12.7 million iPods, down from 15.4 million in the same quarter last year, and 4.1 million Macs, down from 5.2 million units in Q1 2013.Click here for more on this paper.......

As it has been anticipated a year ago, the company was meaningfully forced with iMacs. The company believes our Mac sales would have been greater lacking those restraints. iMacs were reduced by 700,000 units year over year. It was blamed the blunder on a feeble marketplace, a small quarter, and the cannibalization of iMac sales by iPad merchandises. In terms of product cannibalization, it is an enormous prospect for the company and it does not fear cannibalization. Apple believes that if they do then somebody else will surely cannibalize it. The top management of the company very well knows that iPhone has cannibalized some iPod trade and iPad has cannibalized some Macs, but most of the cannibalization has occurred after the launch of iPhone but Apple believes in the philosophy of churning out innovative products rather than leveraging successful products at the expense of delayed research and development. </o:p>
