Define the various options used in archiving client’s data and create a presentation for the grant committee that will show the types of services available on the market today.

Congratulations, you have just been awarded a small business grant from the federal government. You and several of your classmates are now well-positioned to launch your own data center service company. One requirement of receiving the grant money is to present your high-level business plan to the grant committee. You know that a key to success is to have a way to differentiate your services from those of your competitors.
 Instructions:
  • You need to define the various options used in archiving client’s data and create a presentation for the grant committee that will show the types of services available on the market today.
  • You should also list the key advantages and disadvantages of each.
  • Show what your pricing model will be for the services that you will offer.
  • Your team is to create an APA document 5-6 pages long that explains the options for archiving client data including disk mirroring, network attached storage, tape backups, optical back-ups, RAID systems, and cloud-based storage.
  • Your paper should contain a cover page with the course information, unit, and your name.
  • You will also have slides to review the data archiving options and your pricing model. The last page should be your reference page. Be sure to follow APA guidelines for reference format.
Grading Criteria:
Your project should address and discuss the followings:
  • Benefits and disadvantages of offsite tape,
  • Valuating the use of tape backups, and the vendors and transportation services that would support them.
  • Use of optical drive platters for high-volume data archiving.
  • Process of disk mirroring and how a hot site mirror of data from one location to another is one of the best methods of archiving data.
  • Data storage cycles should be discussed to show how data archive tapes are rotated by date and reused.
  • Cloud-based storage is a new method of storing data but has several risks that should be understood.
  • Finally, in-house archiving made possible through RAID systems and network attached storage devices should show that data can be moved from the server to other locations, but if these locations are in the same facility, the risk of disaster is not mitigated.

Deliverable Length:
APA document 5-6 pages long
