DQ 1: Please look again at
the CDC's
Web page about ADHD. (http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/adhd/facts.html)
In 150-200 words, please analyze the
document’s purpose and audience. Who, for example, is the CDC's audience? What
are their beliefs about ADHD, and how does the CDC's Web page relate itself to
those beliefs? Why would the federal government post a Web page about ADHD?
What role does the general public expect the government to play regarding
disorders such as ADHD?
DQ 2: The CDC's Web page about ADHD focuses quite heavily
on children. Why do you think this is? What impression of the disorder
does this give the general public? Do you feel the choice to focus on children
is justified? Why or why not? Later on in the week, go back to your
classmates' posts and explain why you agree or disagree about these issues.
