See attachment below... Thanks!
Part
1 Due 2/26/2014
Write
400–600 words that respond to the following questions
with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future
discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to
reinforce your ideas.
·
Discuss how focusing
mainly on self-interest in the workplace can create conflict and lead to
counterproductive decisions.
Part
2Due 3/1/2014
All
groups have conflicts. It is an inevitable process for people working together.
However, high-performing groups and teams learn from the conflict and use that
greater understanding to go on to develop an even stronger culture.
You
want managers to understand what to expect from conflicts and how to help teams
through them. Prepare information to share with a random group of managers by
identifying types of conflict that are more common to teams and how teams can
identify potential areas for conflict, prevent that conflict, and how they can
successfully use positive conflict resolution to improve performance.
·
Research various
theories on conflict, and create a PowerPoint presentation of 5–7 slides that
focuses on resolving conflicts within teams and discusses how cultural
differences influence the way teams resolve conflict.
Speaker notes of 200–250 words
Additionally,
reflect on a time in which you were involved in a team and the team had a
serious misunderstanding that led to a conflict. Answer the following questions
for that experience:
·
If only 1 member caused
the problem, was the problem obvious to others, or were you the only person who
noticed it? How did you deal with it?
·
If the problem was
primarily between 2 team members and did not directly involve others on the
team, what caused this problem? How did the team deal with it?
·
Suggest a communication
strategy that would have prevented these issues.
