     B.  Name one way that humanshave affected the amount of longwavebackradiation from the atmosphere to the surface.  Would this tend to increase or decrease surface temperature? (10 points)
           
C.     Using a diagram of a feedback loop, show how melting of the arctic ice caps would change the albedo of the Earth and the amount of shortwave radiation it absorbs. (10 pts)

D.    Would this be a positive or negative feedback on global warming? (5 points)

2.  You hike from location 1, at sea level, to the top of a mountain in the Sierras (location 2) at 3000 m above sea level.  Assume a lapse rate of 6.5 degrees per 1000 m.  What is the temperature at location 2 (mountain top): (5 points)
