You will complete a p chart similar to the example shown in
Chapter 9, section 9.2, figure 9.1 & 9.2, from our textbook “Statistical
Process Control and quality Improvement”, starting from the provided Excel
template. Two versions of the assignment template are provided; 2A is for the
newer version of Excel: ".xlsx", 2B is compatible for older versions
of Excel: ".xls". Both are located in the files section of the canvas
site. You will enter the numerical data from the section below, and calculate
all of the p, p – bar, then plot these numbers and add the connecting lines, in
the appropriate chart sections. You will also calculate and plot the UCLP,
LCLp. The control limit formulas are on page 365 of the textbook; the formulas
to complete the control limits are illustrated on pages 367 & 368, example
9.1 takes you through the steps to do the calculations. Be sure to include your
p, p – bar, related steps, upper, and lower control limit calculations below
the chart.
